Why our paint jobs hold up
Most of the exterior calls we get start the same way: the paint is peeling on the south or west side of the house and the homeowner wants it to look right again. A good-looking paint job on day one is easy. One that still looks good after 10 Minnesota winters comes down to prep, primer and how the finish coats go on.
So most of our hours go into the part you never see in the photos. We wash the siding, scrape and sand everything loose, caulk the open joints, and prime every bare spot so the finish bonds. Then the siding gets two coats, sprayed and back-brushed so the paint works into the grain, and the trim is brushed by hand and cut clean against the siding. Inside, it is the same idea: patch, sand, prime the patches, two coats, crisp lines at the ceiling.
How we run a painting job
- We walk every job with you, help with colors, and send a written estimate that spells out what is included.
- Prep is most of the hours: wash, scrape, sand, caulk, prime.
- Two finish coats, sprayed and back-brushed on siding, brushed on trim, cut clean at the edges.
- Furniture moved and covered inside, plants and decks covered outside, cleanup every day.
- A final walkthrough with you before we close out the job. What you point at gets touched up that day.
