We hired Cedar Tone Properties & Painting to paint the exterior of our house and to repair some roofing on the peak of our house (which was done incorrectly by a different roofing company). CTP did excellent work on both projects. The painting crew was meticulous and accommodating. They made sure we were completely happy with the final result. The roofing crew matched the shingles perfectly and finished the roof peak correctly. Our house looks wonderful! We are extremely satisfied with Cedar Tone and recommend them for your painting or roofing needs.

Cedar Tone did an excellent job painting both our home’s interior and exterior. They went above and beyond by both repairing and staining the exterior siding. We’ve used them twice and would highly recommend them.

I hired Cedar Tone to paint the outside of my home. They did a great job! The house looks just like I wanted it, they matched the existing paint color perfectly, cleaned up, and even rewashed my outside windows! I will be hiring them again!

Why our paint jobs lastCareful prep is what makes a paint job last

A Minnesota exterior takes freeze and thaw, wind-driven rain and a summer sun that cooks the south wall. Paint holds up to all of it when the surface underneath is clean, smooth and primed, so prep is where most of our hours go.

We wash and scrape every side of the house, sand the edges smooth, caulk the joints and spot-prime bare wood. Then the siding gets two coats, sprayed and back-brushed so the paint works into the grain, and the trim gets brushed and cut clean at every edge.

PrepWashed, scraped, sanded and caulked, with everything nearby masked and covered.

Before you callCommon questions about our painting

What do you paint?

House exteriors and interiors, top to bottom: siding, trim, fascia, soffit, doors and garage doors outside, and walls, ceilings, trim and doors inside. We also spray cabinets and built-ins, stain cedar siding, and paint townhomes, multi-family buildings and small commercial spaces.

When is exterior painting season in Minnesota?

Roughly May through mid-October, depending on the year. Paint needs the surface and the overnight air to stay above about 50 degrees to cure properly. We book exteriors in the order estimates are approved, and we paint interiors, cabinets and trim all winter.

Can you match the color that is on the house now?

Yes. We pull a chip from an inconspicuous spot and have it matched, or we bring a fan deck to the walkthrough and help you pick something new. One homeowner on our Google profile wrote that the match on her exterior came out identical to the old color.

Where do you work?

Across the west and northwest Twin Cities metro. We are headquartered in Rockford and paint in Greenfield, Independence, Delano, Buffalo, Corcoran, Medina, Rogers, St. Michael, Albertville, Otsego, Maple Grove, Plymouth, Monticello and Minneapolis, plus the communities in between.
